Smashing Golf

A Warm Start

You pull into the parking lot and head to the pro shop. Your coach greets you by name and hands you a practice card. They show you the range, the putting green, and where to pick up clubs. Right away, you feel at ease. Everyone here wants you to have fun.

Clubs and Clothing

Don’t own golf gear yet? No sweat. Most places loan you a basic set—driver, a couple of irons, a wedge, and a putter. Wear comfy pants and flat-soled shoes or clean sneakers. In Burlington, mornings can be cool and afternoons warm. Layers keep you ready for sun or breeze.

Warm-Up

Simple stretches and a few test swings. This gets muscles ready and helps you focus.

Grip and Stance

Your coach shows you how to hold the club so it feels steady. Then you learn to stand so you balance easily. Nail these, and good swings follow.

Basic Swing

Half-swings with a mid-iron. Slow and smooth. You’ll see how the club moves and how the ball flies.

Putting 101

Short strokes on the green. You learn how firm to swing and how to read small slopes.

Debrief and Homework

A quick chat on what went well and what to practice. You leave with one or two drills to try on your own.

Most lessons last about 45 minutes. You’ll be in a pair or group of three at most. More faces can mean less time for each swing.

What You’ll Master First

  •  A grip that fits your hands
  • A stance that keeps you steady
  • A smooth, half-swing that launches the ball
  • A simple putt that rolls true

You won’t yet chip from the rough or hit the driver full force—that comes later.

At-Home Practice

Spend 10 minutes a day. Hit three putts on the kitchen floor. Take five swings in the backyard. Keep it short and focused. Write down one win each time—like “five putts in a row” or “no fat shots.” Small wins lead to big steps.

On the Course… Someday

You’ll learn course rules and how to walk the fairway. But early on, your home is the lesson area. When you’re ready, you’ll play a few holes on a par-3 course. That’s when golf shifts from practice to play.

Fees and Packages

Private lessons run about $95 each. Group sessions cost $75 per person. Many ranges sell five-lesson packs at a small discount. Ask about family or friend rates if you bring someone along.

Golf Lessons in Burlington are all about steady steps. Each lesson builds on the last. You’ll leave the range with a smile, a simple plan, and a taste for more. Ready to tee off? Sign up today with Smashing Golf and see what your swing can do.
